allowed for one of the more credible footy games of recent years (the 2 against 1 sides are always slightly tedious). However, the large number was quickly wittled down when it came to the swim itself.The NY swim always involves such mature and sensitive male-bonding activities as throwing Tommy's trainers & towel on the fire, soaking the last guy across the burn by throwing rocks in the water as he jumps, laughing at anyone showing signs of distress or pain on entering the pool, and not catching the bag of anyone throwing it across the river in an attempt to keep their stuff dry. Just can't understand why more people don't come out on Jan 1st?!
